About Roblox parent accounts
Connecting your parent account to your child’s account gives you access to parental controls. You’ll be able to manage their personal information, approve requests, and see insights on screen time, spending, and more. As your child grows up, we’ll also notify you as feature management shifts to them.
Before you proceed, here’s more about how account linking works, and how your child’s personal information will be collected, used, and shared based on the parental control settings you choose.
Create an account
Creating a parent account only takes a few minutes. You’ll be asked to enter your birthday, verify your age using a government-issued ID, credit card, or other permitted method, and link to your child’s Roblox account. After that, you’ll be able to approve certain actions for your child on Roblox through the parental controls settings. You’ll also receive email notifications about your child’s account once you’ve verified and provided your consent.
If you already have your own Roblox account, you can link it to your child’s account.
Your child’s information
Your child provided your email address to request that you link to their account. We will not use your email address for any other purpose
unless you provide consent for other specified purposes. If you choose not to link a parent account, your child may still be able to access age-appropriate features, including filtered text chat, subject to regulatory requirements and age checks. You may request that we delete your child’s account or request that we delete your email address at any time by contacting
Roblox Support. When your child creates an account on Roblox, we collect only their username, password, date of birth, and gender (optional) so we can create their account and log them into the service. Apart from a parent’s email, we do not collect, use, or disclose personal information from users under 13 without your consent except in limited circumstances, which may include:
- We use facial age estimation to conduct age checks to ensure your child's access to content and features in age-appropriate groups. This technology analyzes images and video of a child’s face and their facial features and does not identify who they are as an individual. We delete such images and video after processing and do not use such information for any other purpose.
- We collect and use limited technical information to operate the Roblox platform. More specifically we use IP addresses and device identifiers to connect your device to Roblox, serve and personalize content, monitor our platform for safety purposes, maintain and analyze the functioning of Roblox, perform network communications, authenticate users, serve contextual advertising, including capping the frequency of ads, protect the security or integrity of Roblox, and support legal or regulatory compliance.
Required Consent
To enable specific services and features that may permit your child to disclose personal information through certain types of text or voice communications offered on the platform (e.g., Experience Chat, Direct Experience Chat, Party Chat), you must link a parent account to your child’s account and provide affirmative consent. Once you have linked your account, you will be able to manage these features through the
parental controls in your account. If you do not provide consent, your child will not be able to use these services and features. If you approve other users (such as trusted friends) to communicate with your child, they may be able to read, collect, or use any personal information like your child’s real name, addresses, or phone number shared by your child.
Roblox may use any personal information provided by your child (i.e., personal information disclosed in text and voice communication on the platform) to support internal operations. For instance, Roblox filters such chats to automatically block personal information from being disclosed and to prevent personal information from becoming public,
but no filters are 100% fool proof. In addition, Roblox may use any personal information provided by your child to protect the safety of your child, to protect the security and integrity of our platform, and to determine which platform features your child may access. If you do not take action on this email, your email will be deleted from our system after 7 days.
